About Mrs. Bradley.....
I have an energetic family who enjoys going on bike rides, swimming, hiking, camping and snuggling up on the couch watching movies together. I enjoy traveling, running, spending time with my family and reading a good book. I have a Bachelor’s Degree from Western Oregon University, a Master’s Degree and an ESOL endorsement from Willamette University. I have been teaching for 16 years throughout Stayton, Turner, Silverton and Salem-Keizer. I LOVE teaching at Salem-Heights!
About the Classroom
Communication is essential and I will send home and post the classroom newsletter each month. Please feel free to contact me by phone at school or by email and I will do my best to get back to you as soon as I can. I welcome your thoughts and look forward to working together!
Behavior
I use a green, yellow and red behavior card system in my classroom. Each day, students begin with a green card. If a student is not following directions, they get a warning and will change their card to yellow. If the behavior continues they will change the card to red and will need to fill out a “Think About My Choices” form and receive a phone call/or email message home. However, if a student’s behavior changes positively, they will be able to adjust their card accordingly. Students whose cards stay green the entire day will receive a hole-punch on their punch card. When the punch card is complete, they move on to the next colored punch card and choose from the prize box!
The classroom can earn marbles for positive behavior throughout the day even from other teachers. When an entire jar is filled to the top we will have a classroom celebration!
The word RESPECTFUL is written on the board every day. If the classroom is being disrespectful at any time throughout the day, a letter will be erased. If the entire word gets erased, the class will lose recess time. As with the color cards, the letters can be added back on if/when the behavior improves.
Each table group receives points for positive behavior. At the end of the week, points will be added up and the table group with the most points will eat lunch with the teacher in the classroom and invite a friend.
Snack
Students are allowed to bring a snack each day. Please send a healthy snack such as fruit, crackers, pretzels, etc. Please refrain from sending chips, cookies or candy. Your child may also bring in a water bottle and keep it at their desk throughout the day. Donations of snacks to the classroom would be greatly appreciated!
